Dive into the world of Harry Potter and bring it to life! J. K. Rowling has created a rich world for her readers, and in this class we will look at the bridges between that world and our own. Each week, we will look at a different aspect of the Harry Potter universe and the real life equivalents, using the series and various outside resources. At the end of the term, you will be set loose to explore and present on the subject or magical object of your choosing in greater detail, using whatever presentation method works best for you. From Herbology and botany to the mythology of Magical Creatures, we will see the many and varied ways that Hogwarts is not so fictional afterwards - and gain a new appreciation for both magic, and muggle ingenuity!
