Corin Barsily Goodwin, Director

Corin Barsily Goodwin is a former city girl who homeschools her two 2e children in the rural southern Oregon. Before having children, Ms. Goodwin worked in the private and public sectors as a lobbyist, policy analyst and economic analyst, and spent several years in library and archival positions. She co-chairs the Legislative Committee for the HomeSchool Association of California (HSC) and served as their Gifted/Special Needs Advisor. She does educational consulting and writing, and has been presenting workshops on gifted and homeschool related issues for a number of years and in many venues. Debbie Schwarzer, General Counsel

Debbie Schwarzer lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two gifted boys, who have homeschooled from the beginning. She has been very active with HSC, previously serving on its Board and currently as its Legal Chair and head of the legislative committee. She is still a practicing corporate lawyer, although on a very part-time basis.

Brandy Taylor, Business Director

Brandy Taylor homeschools her three gifted children in San Jose, California. Prior to having children, Ms. Taylor spent seven years with the Wilmington Savings Fund Society. She has extensive experience managing fundraisers for non-profit organizations.

Anne Beneventi, Professional Outreach Coordinator

Anne Beneventi has worked with gifted children for more than 25 years and her personal mission is to assist them to flourish in their giftedness. She taught for several years at Nueva School for the gifted and co-founded Roeper West School. She studied extensively with Annemarie Roeper, a leading expert in gifted education. She is certified as a Master Practitioner of Qualitative Assessment, an alternative method of evaluating giftedness that includes the emotional characteristics and complexities. She is currently vice president of the board of the Baywood Learning Center, and in her private consultation service she helps parents and educators better understand and provide appropriate support to exceptional children in their care.
