With summer fast approaching—no school, sunny weather, and lots of time spent playing outdoors—it’s nice to have a few things hidden in my closet to add some novelty to a long, hot day. I’ve made a list of five items under $20 that I love from Joann.com.
1. Sidewalk Mandala Kit: $10.39
Stencils, chalk and lots of designs to choose from, this kit is sure to keep my young artists busy for hours.
2. T-shirts and Fabric paint/markers : $5-15
Jo-Ann’s youth T-shirts are usually $2-3 each, and they have a variety of fabric paints and markers under $10 to choose from, depending on the level of mess you’d like to make. Apply the weekly coupon, and you can set the kids free to design their new play clothes quite affordably!
3. Salt Water Powered Robot: $11.99
This robot is just cool. No batteries required. The kids can build it and make it zoom with a drop of salt water. I’m getting one for each of my girls and looking forward to the robot races!
4. Fabric: Price varies
Jo-Ann has a fantastic fabric selection. Their character line from Frozen is perfect for those still singing “Let it Go.” The site also offers many creative and simple no-sew craft ideas on the Projects + Inspiration page for moms like myself who haven’t perfected the art of sewing.
5. Drawing and Art Supplies: Price varies
A well-stocked art supply drawer is the key to our summer. I like to hide new materials like glitter glue or unique markers under the most often used materials for an unexpected surprise. Throw in a few big cardboard boxes, and let the fun begin!
These are just a few of the many ideas from Joann.com. Browse the site with our affiliate link, stock up on summer projects, and support GHF at the same time!
